Grand Theft Auto 6 is one of the most anticipated games of all time. This is partly due to the fact that it's been so long since the last game in the series. But if GTA didn't have a glowing reputation, people wouldn't care about it. Its representation was established by games like Vice City, which remains one of the best the series has to offer.
GTA 6 will actually take you to Vice City and other parts of Florida. Whether or not it will recreate the magic of Vice City remains to be seen. But if it follows that game's lead and excels in the following areas, fans will be in for a real treat:
great soundtrack
When people talk about what makes Vice City so great, one of the first things they often mention is the soundtrack. Driving through Vice City was a joy to behold while listening to major artists such as Iron Maiden, Bryan Adams, Kool & the Gang, and many more. And since most of the songs are from the 80s, it feels like going back to that era, and it also evokes nostalgia for a certain age group.

Although GTA games are technically set in fictional cities, many of them are based on real-life locations. Vice City is GTA's version of Miami. So it includes virtual versions of real places in Miami, including Ocean Drive and Little Havana. Because Vice City is an older game, not all locations may look exactly like they do in real life, but they're close enough to feel like Miami.
This is something that should continue in GTA 6. Vice City's classic landmarks should return, this time much more realistic. Additionally, the new game will include more locations in Florida, creating the opportunity for even more notable locations to be included.

Vice City's predecessor, GTA 3, was the first game in the series to actually have a narrative. However, since the main character did not speak, the content was very minimal. But Vice City raised the storytelling standard for the series by delivering a narrative with surprising moments, great betrayals, and a decent script. Therefore, it was one of the best aspects of the game.
But the series' storytelling standards have risen much higher since then. As such, GTA 6 is expected to have a much better story than Vice City's, including more engaging dialogue and an equally memorable protagonist.
A city full of color
When you think of Liberty City in GTA 4, dark and gloomy colors come to mind. The same goes for Vice City. This place is full of color. There are lots of multi-colored buildings and vibrant neon colors around the city. Plus, we can't forget the eye-catching blue color of the sea and rivers in the game. The beach is also easy on the eyes.
All of this helps make you feel like you're really in Miami. This is what Vice City is supposed to spoof. GTA 6 promises to offer a bigger map, and Vice City is just one part of it. This means it may not all be filled with bright Miami-inspired colors. it's okay. But Rockstar needs to make sure the Vice City area is filled with dazzling colors.
Memorable secondary villain
The GTA series has featured some great villains over the years, but not all of them have served as the main antagonist. Some of the series' most memorable enemies were secondary villains, like Lance Vance from Vice City.
He follows the series tradition of being an antagonist who starts out as a friend. However, his betrayal was especially surprising since he seemed like a comic relief character for most of the adventure. He ultimately outshines the game's main villain and is the one most people remember. If GTA 6 wants to live up to Vice City, it can't just rely on its main villain to get the job done on the hostile side. The game also needs a strong secondary villain to help.
A city that feels alive
By today's standards, Vice City feels quite empty. But that wasn't how it felt at launch. The number of people and cars moving around made Vice City feel like a living, breathing place compared to most other gaming cities at the time. This is now essential for open world games set in densely populated areas.
In GTA 6, there are a lot of people who not only move around, but also have to act and talk. You can even interact with some of them like in Red Dead Redemption 2. What's important is that the open world should feel like a real place filled with real people.
Improve what came before
One of the reasons Vice City is so well remembered is that it was a huge step forward for the series. Its predecessor, GTA 3, was a great title that helped popularize open world games. But in Vice City, the bar has definitely been raised. The main character actually spoke, the storytelling was much better, and the open world felt much more vivid. Vice City certainly felt like it improved on a lot of what was established in previous games.
I hope GTA 6 will also be an improvement over its predecessor. After all, GTA 5 is an old game at this point, having first been released in 2013. So the series needs to take it a step further and build on what GTA 5 established. In particular, areas such as combat and movement may need improvement.
