The current early access version is Path of Exile 2 It consists of three Acts, but the full game is expected to double this number and add three more Acts, for a total of six Acts. To accommodate the currently missing Act III and to provide players with a smoother transition to the endgame, the game will switch to Brutal difficulty after completing Act III. Operating similarly to the New Game+ system, players progress through the Act a second time with higher difficulty enemies while retaining all items and statistics earned through play. Quest objectives on Brutal difficulty are the same as those on Normal difficulty, but some rewards have changed to offer higher level versions of items or different base types of the same rewards.
