The Baldur's Gate 3 gang are some of the best allies Tav could ask for. A sexy vampire, a muscular demon, a former cultist, an angry lizard lady, and an overall chill bear guy are all you need to save the world and have a few laughs in the process. Yes, I know I left out Wyll. I did that on purpose. These companions were so popular that they appeared in other games as well.

We deserve to see more of Will in Baldur's Gate 3
He's a fantastic character whose story has been left too much on the cutting room floor. Let's give him flowers!
While Tav serves as the player's perspective, it's Astarion, Karlach, Shadowheart, and the rest of the gang that add the personality needed for a large-scale RPG like Baldur's Gate 3. Exploring and destroying the Netherbrain. However, some fans can't help but wonder what would happen if they were able to recruit Dark Urge like the rest of their companions.
What if Dark Urge was a companion in Baldur's Gate 3?
Dark Urge, affectionately known as Durge, is a special origin character that you can play, ideally on your second or third playthrough of the game. They have secrets and little voices in their heads that tell them they are more confused than Astarion. To avoid spoilers, I won't reveal any more. Redditor _Beardlet_ asked if anyone would like him to be recruited to the party.
“We’re really disappointed that you can’t recruit the game’s default Dark Urge character as a companion,” they requested in a Reddit post. “I think it would have been really cool and fun to interact with him. It would have been interesting to have a story about having to choose whether or not to rescue him from a room on the Mind Flayer spaceship.”
Fanfiction is a big part of the Baldur's Gate 3 community, so the comments helped create fun scenarios for what would happen if Durge was added to the party. One comment noted that if the party is full, Durge may inadvertently murder one of his companions to make room for himself.
“Do you know how Karlach and Wyll will leave if you attack the forest? Perhaps Durge can only be recruited if he sides with the goblins, giving the players a reason to side with them and rebuilding the part of the party they just lost.” Another comment said: . “You can imagine that Dirge is inclined to join Tav, who has just killed dozens of innocent people.”
Another opinion is that Durge has created a whole murder mystery about killing people one by one in the Emerald Grove and we have to stop them before they kill everyone. You can recruit and use them later if you wish.
Considering the game's vast lore, there are plenty of ways to incorporate Durge as a companion. Be prepared for the unexpected to get really confusing.

Baldur's Gate 3 is the long-awaited next chapter in the Dungeons & Dragons-based RPG series. Developed by Divinity creator Larian Studios, the game places you in the midst of the mind flayer invasion of Faerûn, over 100 years after its predecessor.
