Spiders get a bad rap not only in real life but also in video games. Every cave or dungeon you explore will have spider minions and a big spider boss at the end. People are so turned off by them that arachnophobia filters are now commonplace in many new games, turning the eight-legged creatures into silly little blobs.

But not everyone hates spiders. Believe it or not, some people love arachnids and even keep them as pets. So these spider lovers were very happy when you realized that wasn't the case. have Like almost every other video game featuring spiders, killing them in Baldur's Gate 3 is all about killing them.

As Soggyglup points out on the Baldur's Gate 3 subreddit, the fact that you can actually persuade a spider to attack its cruel master is something for spider fans to celebrate. “I love spiders and am a spider owner. I love that I can have positive interactions with my big arachnid friends. Many games make you kill spiders.”
Other arachnid friends not only appreciated this fact, but also shared their experiences dealing with giant spiders in Baldur's Gate 3. “Have you been to Grimforge yet?” I asked for one opinion. “One of my favorite parts is convincing the villain’s spider to quit his job and go home.” Obviously, you can literally convince them to crawl back to where they came from, and in turn you can clear a bunch of enemies off the board without a fight.
“Yeah. My favorite thing to do is clear out goblin camps and free the spiders. I like the idea of those guys taking the whole place to themselves.” Said another less-than-receptive reply about goblins enslaving poor spiders. Not only did we rescue them, but we also cleared out the camp and gave them new homes.
I'll admit it. I had no idea that talking to them was even an option. I had just gone in for a fireball when the health bar showed up. But I'll definitely talk to them next time I play.
