Baldur's Gate 3.
Baldur's Gate 3 It offers players an impressive number of choices. Even the smallest decisions that may not seem that important can end up having a huge impact on how the game plays out, and every little thing can become important.
Some of the choices the player can make may be the best possible choices, while others may be the worst possible choices. This is especially true when it is not clear which decisions are most important to success. Here are some decisions players need to make to ensure they get the best results:
Updated on October 6, 2024 by Hamza Haq: Baldur's Gate 3 presents players with numerous choices at every stage of the game with unclear outcomes. For first-time players, it's not clear which decisions are important or what impact their choices may have in the long run. Naturally, this means that players often miss out on powerful weapons, permanent bonuses, and even companions if they make poor decisions. Making the right decisions in BG3 is essential information, especially for players who are afraid of missing out.
9 On Kalach's side
No, she is not the devil
When the player is first introduced to a character KalachSeveral groups of people will tell you that Karlach is a dangerous demon that must be stopped. The “paladins of Tyr” are actually lying to capture Kalak and bring her to their superiors, and Will is forced to hunt her down due to his contract with Myzora.
Some players who don't know the Tieflings or are suspicious of Karlach end up siding with Wyll or the Paladins, killing Karlach, and missing out on one of the best companions in the game. If the player instead trusts Karlach, they will learn that the whole thing was a misunderstanding (at least between her and Wyll) and they can spare her.
8 Take Aunt Ethel's hair.
The old woman's deal is better than you think
Saving Mayrina is one of the main quests in Act 1. You'll need to find the missing girl at Aunt Ethel's home, the Riverside Teahouse, or, as it turns out, the old woman who trapped Mayrina in the overgrown tunnel. To rescue Meirina from the old woman's clutches, players must defeat Aunt Ethel in the old woman's form at the bottom of an overgrown tunnel.
Although it is possible to defeat the old woman directly and rescue Meirina, players should aim to obtain Aunt Ethel's Hair, a unique item that can only be obtained by lowering the old woman's HP to 25% without killing it. If they can do so without killing her directly, she will offer a deal. Let her raise Mayrina and her unborn baby, and in return she will give the player powers. The power in question is an item called Aunt Ethel's Hair, which when consumed permanently increases your ability score by +1. Luckily, if the player passes an Intimidate or Persuasion check when the old woman makes the offer, they can rescue Meirina and gain a permanent bonus item. It's a DC 20 check, so it's a good idea to save up some inspiration as you prepare.
7 Rescue Orpheus from Prison
He doesn't deserve it.
Many players are stuck on one key decision in the game. Free Orpheus from prison In the astral prism. This is an important point because throughout the game it is shown to the player that the Githyanki do things in different ways and that they do not always agree with Tav.
However, if the players free him, they will discover that Vlaakith has imprisoned him under a lie. He will also be the key to defeating the Netherbrain without having to transform into a Mind Flayer. This is perfect for players who don't want to go Mind Flayer. One thing to note is that if you free Orpheus, the Emperor will turn against Tav. But the truth is that Tav has already gone crazy, and his true self would like to be murdered.
6 Force Astarion to bite Araj Oblodra
And give her blood
One of the most curious NPCs players will encounter in Moonrise Tower in Act 2. Baldur's Gate 3 Araj Oblodra, a female drow, has a curious proposition for the party. Ask Astarion to bite her. Astarion isn't that interested in the idea, so the player must force him to bite Araj to fulfill her request. At first glance, this seems like a bad choice. Making Astarion angry doesn't seem to be a good idea, especially for someone he's romantically involved with. But objectively speaking, convincing the resident vampire to bite Araj Oblodra is the right choice. That's because it comes with the Potion of Eternal Vitality, a one-time consumable that can permanently increase the drinker's strength by 2.
Afterwards, Araj will also offer the player the opportunity to obtain a unique potion tailored to him if he agrees to give him his blood. This isn't as useful as the Potion of Eternal Vitality, but it's also a unique reward. If a character agrees to this deal, they will obtain a potion based on their race. Every party member can choose this deal individually. This means that players can redo this transaction once for each party member, even if they are in a camp.
5 Don't let Gayle become a god.
Godhood does not suit him.
You will see one of the game's many endings. Gale becomes the god of ambition. This is pretty cool and allows you to remove the orb from his chest and be free of Mystra, but that's not who he is. Many characters will say that he has changed a lot and do not like the new Gale at all.
Gale deserves to be free from Mystra, and she deserves to be free from the curse. After all, Mystra pursues many young, attractive wizards who worship her. But Gail shouldn't lose who she is in the process, and that's exactly what happens in this ending. He gains freedom, but that freedom comes at the cost of losing himself. He's no longer Gayle, he's a completely different person.
4 Help Lae'zel escape Vlaakith.
Her queen is not who she says she is.
Lae'zel is a difficult character to get along with. This is especially true if the player is not playing as a Githyanki. She absolutely loves the Githyanki ways, and has been brainwashed to believe that Vlaakith, their queen, is the greatest being that has ever lived. But this is not true at all. Vlaakith is not who she says she is.
Vlaakith's endless reign was driving her crazy and making her want to insert herself as God of the Githyanki, a position she was not qualified for. She doesn't truly care about what's best for the Githyanki or the race. She only cares about herself and her power. It's sad that Lae'zel is worshiping someone who couldn't care less about her, like Shadowheart of Shar and Astarion of Cazador, and it's worth the effort to set Lae'zel free.
3 Saving Nightsong
Shadowheart deserves the truth
One of the biggest decisions in the game is whether Shadowheart should kill Nightsong. Many players either tell Shadowheart not to do that or have her follow her heart, which usually ends with Nightsong sparing, but not everyone realizes who Shar truly is.
If the player does not play D&D, Or, if they don't spend a lot of time immersed in the game, they might think Shar is on Shadowheart's side, so she'll let Nightsong die. but, When Nightsong dies, Shadowheart enters a dark path from which there is no escape. And she deserves better than that life.
2 Stand up to Raphael
Get the best loot in the game
Another key choice is whose side the player should be on at the end of the game. Everyone seems to want the crown, and it's difficult to know who will truly keep their word and who will use their powers to make the world a worse place. Knowing what is known about Raphael, he doesn't seem keen on keeping his promise the way Tav would like.
If the player tells Raphael they can have the crown, they can still sneak into his home, The House of Hope, and confront him. Even if they say they won't side with that person, they may do so. Although this is one of the most difficult battles in the game, players can earn some amazing loot like the Helldusk Armor set as they explore the House of Hope.
1 Don't let Astarion ascend
Power comes at a price
One of the hardest things to resist in the game is Astarion's Ascension. In the end, if he completes the ritual, Astarion will have the powers that Kazador had, and will become an extremely powerful and full-fledged vampire, rather than suffering from vampire spawn as he had throughout his life. That power can be very helpful in the final battle of the game.
But Astarion is not like that at all. Because that's all he wants and Cazador is all he knows. Tav has the power to pull Astarion out of the darkness and show him that there is more to life. As he ascends, Astarion sets Shadowheart down a dark path from which he, like Shar, will never return.
