To enable power saving mode, players will need to go into the console settings on their PS5 or PS5 Pro and navigate to ‘System’. From there, scroll down to the ‘Power Saving’ tab and turn the feature on. This will bring up a list of compatible games installed on the console, prompting players to switch modes for each title.
Of course, turning on power saving mode will take a toll on your gameplay experience. No other games have been confirmed by name, but Sony has stated that more titles are set to receive the power saving mode update in the future. Moreover, some people believe that this power saving mode is actually a teaser for the next generation of portable PlayStation consoles. A recent rumor from leaker Kepler suggests that PlayStation's next-generation hardware could include portable devices that will use similar power-saving technology to allow games to run natively on the device at lower frame rates and fidelity.
