- Dead Rising is finally back, thanks to the recently released Deluxe Remaster.
- It looks like Capcom is looking to expand the rest of the series in a similar fashion, with an official survey asking fans which games they would most like to see released as deluxe remasters.
- The survey also asks whether fans would prefer a full-scale remake of the game rather than a mid-game upgrade.
Capcom surveyed Dead Rising fans to see which game in the series they would like to see released as a “deluxe remaster” next, and surprisingly enough, Dead Rising 4 was on the list.
There was a time when Dead Rising fans thought the series would never be seen again and that Capcom would focus solely on Resident Evil as its main zombie game. With the release of Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster earlier this week, that time has finally come to an end and it looks like the series is back.
Capcom has already expressed interest in expanding the series and making more “Deluxe Remasters” in recent interviews, and it looks like that may indeed be the case. As Redditor Wonderful_Mud5363 on the Dead Rising subreddit points out, Capcom sent out a survey after the Deluxe Remaster was released, asking fans what they would like to see next.
The survey includes a variety of questions about the marketing of Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster and how players found out about it, as well as more specific details about the remake’s content, including what they like best and even their favorite costumes. Finally, the survey asks fans if they would like to see more Deluxe Remasters in the future.
The survey actually mentions a number of Capcom franchises that could receive Deluxe Remasters, including Dino Crisis, Onimusha, Power Stone, and Lost Planet. Capcom is clearly looking to the future with these releases.
Following all of that, the survey asked players which Dead Rising game in the series they would most like to see a deluxe remaster of. This included Dead Rising 2, Off The Record, Dead Rising 3, and most surprisingly, Dead Rising 4. This suggests that all of these games are possible, but there is also the option of a completely new game in the series or a full remake like the Resident Evil games.
This survey doesn’t necessarily mean that another Dead Rising game will get the Deluxe Remaster treatment, but it does suggest that Capcom sees it as a possibility and is considering it for the series. Considering how many fans want Dead Rising 2 to be upgraded next, this is a very positive development that opens things up considerably.
