Expedition 33 actor thanks fans and Charlie Cox for their support

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is currently on a roll at The Game Awards, receiving a whopping 12 nominations and congratulating itself on a huge win at Golden Joysticks. Among the TGA nominees, Gustave actor Charlie Cox won best acting along with Verso and Maelle actors Ben Starr and Jennifer English.

Given that the role of Gustave was one of Cox's only roles in a video game to date, he's understandably been a bit more humble about the whole thing, and he recently warmed the heart of every Clair Obscur fan on the planet by claiming that Gustave's motion capture actor Maxence Cazorla probably deserved more nominations than he did. Cox also claimed that Gustave's performance in the game “is up to him” and that his voice is “just part of the process.” Very wholesome stuff.

Naturally, having Daredevil's name mentioned brought a lot of attention to Cazorla. Cazorla appears to have been bombarded with thanks since he said Cox deserved the nomination more than he did. At least that's what Cazorla himself seems to suggest, as he recently reached out to Clair Obscur fans on Twitter to thank them for their love and support.

Charlie Cox has revealed that he is buying a console to play Clair: Obscur Expedition 33.

I don't think he's played a game since Super Mario 64.

In his tweet, Cazorla said he was “so grateful” for Cox's words, which he thought were “incredibly generous.” He then keeps things nice and sane by emphasizing that “it was a team effort that brought Gustave to life” and that he was “honored to play.” [his] Please join in.” Passing along complimentary parcels is a lovely little thing and seems to be proof that the team at Sandfall are pretty close to each other.

That said, we wouldn't have been able to create such an amazing game without the work and talent of Cazorla, who did the mocap moves for Gustave as well as Verso and Renoir. He's also the voice of Esquie, so it's pretty clear that he's a talented individual, and it's nice to see someone as famous as Charlie Cox receiving flowers.
