For some reason the Silksong assholes made the situation even more difficult.

Now that speedrunners and difficulty enthusiasts have spent enough time with Hollow Knight: Silksong, we can expect them to break the game in ways we never thought possible. From rolling credits in under an hour to beating the hardest boss without attacking, Silksong is already falling apart in ways we can't even imagine.

We always knew that our Silk Song would eventually get this treatment, but we could never have imagined that it would become tame so quickly. Now that the initial speedrun period has already passed, the next step for games like this is running challenges. It looks like someone has already made a mod that makes Silksong much harder to beat.

As Spotted by GamesRadar, the mod in question “adds instantaneous Crest switching and eight additional tool slots per Crest for quick playstyle swaps. Crest Master supports up to red tools and cycles through Crests in a custom order defined by the user.” As part of this mod, the Crest known as the Cloakless Crest removes Hornet's cloak and needles.

The Slab has a hidden area where Hornet is kidnapped and her belongings are confiscated. As a result, you'll have to fight with just your kicks until you get everything back. Cloakless Crest allows you to play the entire game that way, increasing the difficulty almost infinitely. Players are already attempting challenges like this throughout the game.

The video Kele uploaded to Twitter shows just how difficult this challenge is to execute. Not only does Hornet look a little ridiculous without her cape, but her kicks do very little damage compared to needles. One comment pointed out that her kick only did about one-fifth the damage the needle did. That means you have to deal 5 times more damage to your enemies.

The Slab Abduction section only lets you fight grunts without a cape and needles, but this challenge also includes a tough boss in Silksong.
