Horikoshi exposes Izuku Midoriya's greatest failure.

My Hero Academia is one of the biggest and most popular anime franchises of the past decade, and that's because of the incredible stories that series author Kohei Horikoshi has woven around a cast of absolutely phenomenal characters. The series' protagonist, Izuku Midoriya, is one of the most beloved characters, and as expected. Fans love Izuku Midoriya's amazing tenacity and, even more than that, his kindness in trying to save everyone in need around him. Izuku Midoriya is the epitome of what a hero should be.And he carved out an untouchable place for himself as a hero, especially after the end of the final war.

Most fans think of Izuku Midoriya as a great hero, but there was actually one thing he failed to achieve throughout his life as a hero, and that was his original goal. And in episode 430, the story ends with “This is a story about how we all continue to reach out together to others.” Was this the plan from the beginning of the series?

Horikoshi's answer: No! It wasn't so! Originally, it was going to end with Deku becoming a teacher and saying, “You too can be a hero!” Even though he used all his strength, he looks confident… I see. The reason for the change is that the series is no longer about Deku and One For All. In this series I was exploring “What does it mean to be the greatest hero?” And since the answer given in this comic means 'reaching out to others,' I thought about writing the answer down, and that's how the final monologue of chapter 430 became what it is now.

Horikoshi confirms All Might is still considered the greatest

According to what Horikoshi himself confirmed, He started the series with the goal of helping Izuku Midoriya become the ultimate hero.In the end, it wasn't about him. Everyone in Class 1-A became the best hero. In fact, Horikoshi himself explained what it means to be the ultimate hero, and for him the essence of it is reaching out to someone and saving them. In that respect, it makes sense that All Might is still considered the greatest hero in the world of My Hero Academia even after the Final War.
