How Herald Of Ice And Thunder Work Together In PoE 2
in Path of Exile 2The Double Herald setting is a skill that allows Herald of Thunder and Herald of Ice to trigger on each other at the same time, causing a chain reaction that can clear the entire screen with one attack.
It's not strictly necessary to understand how Herald skills interact with each other to make this work, but it's useful information nonetheless, especially for players who want to theorize their own build ideas later on. Here's an explanation of how to implement this technique in your build and how it works afterward:

How Herald Of Ice And Thunder Work Together In PoE 2
Herald of Ice triggers when an enemy shatters, an effect that occurs when attacking a frozen enemy, generating a burst of AoE cold damage. To prevent this from triggering a chain reaction, Herald of Ice's cold damage can never freeze enemies and therefore shatter them.
Herald of Thunder, on the other hand, triggers when killing an enemy with the Shock status effect, creating a bolt of electricity that deals damage when striking the enemy. Like the Herald of Ice, the Herald of Thunder cannot inflict shock itself. Can only be triggered by impact from other sources of damage.
now, The Herald of Ice cannot freeze, but ~can do impactand The Herald of Thunder cannot shock ~can do hang tightly. This means you can use one to trigger the other with reliable success. The way to do this is to place a Lightning Infusion Support Gem on the Herald of Ice and a Cold Infusion Support Gem on the Herald of Thunder. This support gem converts a portion of the Herald of Ice's damage into Lightning, enabling Shock, and converts a portion of the Herald of Thunder's damage into Cold, granting Freeze.

Path of Exile 2: Best Atlas Skill Tree Setup
The Atlas Skill Tree is an endgame mapping mechanic in Path of Exile 2 that is unlocked after the campaign. Here's how to set it up correctly:
Under optimal conditions, this means you can: It causes a chain reaction that continues indefinitely, The Herald of Ice triggers the Herald of Thunder, which triggers the Herald of Thunder again, and so on. In a realistic scenario, this will most likely happen once, maybe twice, before the effect wears off. This is because in order to continue perpetuating, the Herald needs a constant stream of monsters to leapfrog into. This is also why Breach shows the most value due to the large number of enemies the Double Herald setup can spawn.
To start this chain reaction, you must first activate Herald of Ice. After freezing, use a cold damage skill such as the Monk's Ice Strike to shatter the enemy. An ice explosion will then occur nearby, and the impact will set off a chain reaction. The reason we chose to trigger Herald of Ice first is because Freeze is much easier to inflict than Shock and Herald of Thunder's lightning can travel further and target enemies much further away than Herald of Ice.
