Here's how each fire structure works:
basic fire
This is a simple and inexpensive type of fire that can be made using the resources you have around you. If you have a boiling pot, you can boil contaminated water. You can also grill and boil the meat.
It can also keep you warm. Throw in some cash and some leaves, and the light it gives off is enough to get you through the night. However, they have a very short lifespan, so you literally have to spend resources to keep using them.
A basic fire can be rekindled three times before breaking.
fire pit
Fire Pit requires more resources than basic fire, but it does everything basic fire does and more. You can boil water and cook food in it, and the light it provides becomes brighter. It also lasts longer, making it a much more viable option for your base.
They are much easier to build than campfires, requiring only sticks, rocks and leaves, and are relatively easy to find just by exploring the area.
standing fire
Standing Fire is a weird one that is mainly used as an attack option rather than a source of light. It still provides warmth and light, but you can't cook a meal or boil water in it.
