How to manage your employees in Planet Coaster 2
When you hire a new employee, they immediately start looking for a job. If there is a task that matches your expertise, you will automatically start participating. For example, if your park has an unmanned pool, once you hire a lifeguard, they will automatically be assigned to that pool.
You can also manually assign employees to specific tasks. To do so, you need to click on the vehicle/facility you want to assign and then go to the Staff option. To assign employees to a specific building, click the Employee Selector.
You can also set salaries for your employees. Go to the Park Management menu and select the Staff option. A new window will display all the employees you currently have. Click on the salary range to toggle between low, medium and high salaries.
If you set your pay low, morale will drop quickly and you will eventually quit your job.
Employee morale is also displayed in this menu. There are five morale levels in the game: miserable, unhappy, satisfied, happy, and very happy. Ideally, you want all your employees to be happy, but content is also acceptable. If morale is miserable for more than two days, that employee will stop working for you.
The Status column in this window shows what the employee is currently doing. From here, you can set up a custom schedule for each employee by clicking the Schedule button. Clicking the fire button sets the state to leaving the park.
How to increase morale in Planet Coaster 2
Tracking employee morale and ensuring they are satisfied with their jobs is essential to keeping operations running smoothly. If employees don't get enough rest or their pay is always set low, they will eventually lose interest and quit their jobs. That means you'll need to hire new employees to replace them.
The first thing you need to do is make sure there are sufficient staff facilities around the park so employees can relax during their breaks. You can build three types of employee facilities, each handling a different number of employees.
Facility name |
employee occupancy rate |
---|---|
small staff facilities |
Up to 4 employees |
staff facility media |
Up to 8 employees |
Spacious staff facilities |
Up to 16 employees |
You also want to make sure you're paying your employees a fair wage. Low pay is fine for a few days, but you don't want to use it as a permanent option as it reduces morale quickly. Also, give employees at least one or two breaks during their work schedule. You can check it in the park management menu.
If your employees aren't getting enough rest, consider setting their wages at a higher rate until you can hire new employees.
Planet Coaster 2 Take the management aspect of the game seriously. As you progress through the game, expand and level up your park, you will naturally have more employees. Tracking their morale and making sure they are happy with their jobs can prevent any of them from suddenly quitting on you.
