Gojo's role in the final issue of Jujutsu Kaisen

- Gojo met death at the hands of Sukuna.
Gojo has played an absolutely vital role in JJK from the beginning. This is a character who started working after eating Sukuna's finger and allowing Yuji to live. Gojo was immediately declared the strongest, and his power was the driving force that enabled him to lead the revolution. From the beginning of the series, it became clear to fans that Gojo was planning a revolution and wanted to change the higher-ups in charge of Jujutsu society. To do that, he needed a strong ally, and that was why he became a teacher and raised his juniors. Of course, Gojo had people like Megumi, Yuji, and Nobara under his command, and with his amazing skills in jujitsu magic, Gojo trained them well. Everything they have achieved to this day is due to Gojo, which clearly shows what a great teacher he truly was.
are you okay! After all, I am the strongest! – Gozo
However, the role of Gojo at JJK goes beyond that of a simple teacher. Gojo was truly a marvelous figure as a warrior. Especially because he was the most powerful wizard of modern times. Possessing both the Infinite Curse technique and the power of the Six Eyes, Gojo was absolutely unstoppable and the only one who could actually fight Sukuna on equal footing. This is seen in the final issue of JJK after Gojo is successfully unsealed in the Curling Game event. Gojo was unsealed, and a date was set for his fight with Sukuna shortly thereafter.
When the Shinjuku showdown and Sukuna finally began, fans got to witness the fight, and it was truly an amazing match. It is no exaggeration to say that this fight put all of JJK's other fights to shame, and to this day it remains the most important fight not only in JJK, but in the world. J.J.K. But the comic as a whole. That said, the conclusion to this fight was definitely not satisfying to readers. While Gojo dominated the battle for a significant amount of time, Sukuna also bided his time, eventually surprising the greatest modern wizard with his newly learned skills.
Thanks to the ten shadow techniques he gained access to because of Megumi, Sukuna was able to cut through Gojo's Infinity, essentially killing him in one shot and splitting his body in two. Gojo eventually passed away. J.J.K. Episode 236, and his amazing journey as a wizard has finally come to an end. Gojo would not have been defeated by Sukuna if the TenShadows Technique had not been a factor. In fact, Gojo may not have been defeated at all, given that he was in complete control of the battlefield until the moment of defeat. If Megumi's body had not been Sukuna's tool, the fight could have been much more advantageous to Gojo, but in the end, Gojo was defeated and Megumi's life came to an end with him.
Gojo's ending in Jujutsu Kaisen
Gozo's legacy was the students he loved
Gojo's defeat led to his death, and at the same time, fans were completely unprepared to see Gojo finally die.
Gojo's death was not accepted across the fandom, not simply because fans weren't ready to let go of the phenomenon, but because there were real hints in the story that Gojo would return. In fact, many characters who met a similar fate to Gojo, such as Yuta Okotsu and Higuruma, somehow survived through other means. If it was possible for them, if the author had hoped for Gojo's return, it would certainly have been possible for him as well. But Gojo certainly didn't return, and that was essentially his ending in JJK.
I want you to grow stronger than me. – Gozo
Sukuna killed Gojo, and that was the end of him. Of course, Gojo appeared in many flashbacks even after his death, appearing in almost every chapter until the very end. But what fans found really strange was that no one had actually paid tribute to Gojo since his death. Gojo was the most influential character in JJK and had a profound impact on the lives of almost every individual in the series. However, Gojo did not have a funeral and was not even mentioned by the characters in the first place.
Of course, the conversation between Yuji and Gojo was revealed to fans in the last chapter, but it wasn't enough. Even people like Yuta, among many others who love Gojo, should have done more and Gege definitely dropped the ball on it. Gege should have respected the greatest character in his entire series more than he did himself, or at least given him the respect he deserved.
Funerals aside, Gojo also did not achieve his dream with his own two hands. Gojo wanted to change the world, and while his students certainly helped him do that, it would have been nice to actually live to witness it. Gojo eventually left everything to the next generation, which was certainly a hopeful thing. But at the same time, he was unable to give Suguru the proper funeral he so desperately wanted. Moreover, the question of whether Gojo acted that way because he had a strong personality or because he was the strongest was not resolved until the end. This is something fans desperately wanted to highlight following his return, something many theorized about but ultimately never came to fruition.
Was Gojo’s ending good?
Gojo's ending was a mixed bag for most fans
Overall, Gojo's ending was pretty average, but it definitely could have been better, especially if the writers had tied up all the loose ends, fleshed out his character a little more than he should have, and killed him off properly. It's undeniable that his return would have made his character worse, but it would have at least given the writers a chance to tie up all the loose ends of this character and flesh him out properly. If Gege had done that before killing him, fans wouldn't have had so many complaints. Gojo's ending certainly could have been better, but in the end it wasn't the worst in the series.
