A few days ago, on a major pirate site gogo animationSuddenly new content stopped being added. Some GoGo-related pages appear to have been shut down, but users appear to be still online, claiming they can still access the website. However, as previously reported, many unrelated pirate anime websites are actually mirroring GoGo Anime (also known as Anitaku) content, so the sudden suspension will affect several other websites, causing many people to watch anime like GoGo Anime (also known as Anitaku). one piece.
GoGo Anime/Anitaku apparently remains frozen to this day, so many websites have reported that they are researching other ways to add new content. Today, most pirate anime streaming websites scrape content from other pirate websites or directly from legitimate platforms.

Japan developing new AI system to prevent comics piracy
Japan is taking big steps to stop anime and manga piracy.
But this week, The operator of YugenAnime, one of the largest GoGo Anime “proxy” websites, has announced that it will cease operations.. In their farewell note, they claimed that “running and maintaining a website of this scale is becoming increasingly difficult and is causing financial and personal problems.” They also added that YugenAnime is “just a hobby to expand and experiment with our skills” and “we had no intention of receiving this much attention and publicity.”
In short, they don't claim to have received any kind of legal notice, but GoGo's freeze seems to have taken a toll on their operations. Additionally, a lot of anti-piracy work may have made them hesitant to find new ways to keep their services functional. At this point, it is likely that the website will eventually be shut down as well, without any notice from the GoGo Anime/Anitkau operators.

Recent anti-piracy activities around the world
This has been a tough year for pirate websites. There have been many anti-piracy operations in Brazil, Indonesia and the Philippines. In the case of Brazil, Operation 404, the country's largest anti-piracy operation, has been underway since 2019, and this year the police began this operation in stages, focusing on illegal animation streaming sites.
As K-content is now reaching a wider public through international and legal platforms, the Korean government has also become more stringent on pirated content. Hong Seong-jin, an Interpol special agent who worked with the government to shut down the website, said recently that piracy “could lead to the collapse of the Korean Wave.”
In Japan, several companies have joined forces to combat piracy and created CODA (Content Overseas Distribution Association). Currently CODA includes major companies such as Shueisha, Aniplex, Avex, Kadokawa, Cygames, Shogakukan, Toei, Ghibli and TV Tokyo. They operate both regionally and internationally (for example, the Brazilian operation was assisted by CODA).
Rights holders claim that piracy costs them billions of dollars a year, but this is a bit difficult to measure. That's because these figures take into account how much more profit everyone who normally watches illegally would make if they switched to a legal platform. The pirate website has been shut down. While a portion of the public moves to legal platforms, others look for other pirated services. Piracy is a multi-faceted problem that includes socio-economic, political and even educational factors (many people, especially young and old, may not even be aware that they are consuming pirated content).
GoGo Animation/Anitaku and Dramacool Chain
It's still unclear what happened in the case of GoGo Anime/Anitaku (so far no coalition has claimed involvement in the website freeze, and the operators have remained silent), but they are linked to Asian entertainment piracy chain Dramacool. Many websites face copyright pressure and close down. They could follow the path of FMovies, which includes 9anime/AniWave in its chain of websites. Earlier this year, FMovies suddenly stopped adding content and later shut everything down.
Despite not being officially affiliated with GoGo Anime, YugenAnime content has actually been retired by GoGo (according to Everything.moe), so the freeze is likely to be a huge blow to the site's operators.
