The Xbox Game Pass has been one of the peaks of game subscription services since its first start in late 2017. The Xbox helped to pioneer the latest models for game subscription services using the game pass, and later introduced new layers such as “Game Pass Ultimate” and a PC version of the game pass. Due to the overwhelming success of this service, other developers and studios have tried to replicate Microsoft's success through services such as Ubisoft+ and Nintendo Switch. Fans of Microsoft Rewards can now find that they get a game pass through the service.
As reported by Purexbox, Microsoft announced the major changes in the game pass through Microsoft Rewards in October. This update shows that the player can no longer use the Microsoft reward point through the service. Players still technically apply reward points to subscriptions, but they need a rotary method rather than using the reward point to claim the Xbox gift card through the service. Microsoft did not provide a reason that changed to Microsoft reward.

This change does not completely prohibit the player to join the compensation point for joining, but the process becomes more difficult when the game pass subscription is removed.
