Momo is one of two new characters added to . reborn shooting Contains Realm of Frost and Inkwash DLC. reborn shooting Numerous new characters were added over the course of the game, many of which were incredibly creative and overwhelming upon release. Momo is no different from the others in this regard, but she feels a little more overpowered than most.
That said, Momo is only game-breaking if you know how to use it properly, and the in-game description of her abilities is a bit confusing to say the least. With that in mind, why not take a deeper look at the character Momo, how it works, and how exactly you should build her for the best results?

3x capacity |
Sends an ink scroll forward 15 meters and leaves a black domain along its path that lasts for 10 seconds. The ink scroll also flies forward, blocking enemy projectiles, knocking back enemies up to 5 meters away, and dealing 500 normal damage. |
There are quite a few tanks and 'close range' fighters. reborn shootingEven though it is a first-person shooting roguelike game. Qing Yan is one of the first characters you can access, while others like Tao and Qian Sui can be unlocked with a bit of Soul Essence farming. However, Momo feels very unique compared to the rest of the melee characters, as her abilities and ascension give her the ability to grow into either a melee fighter or a long-range DPS. That said, the 'best' way to play Momo overall in terms of raw damage is to build an ink form, find a weapon that can be fired while Momo is in that ink form, and find an Occult Scroll that increases skill damage. no see. and weapon damage.
Weapon Recommendations
Starfly if possible, otherwise other options
Compared to our Rin guide, it may seem like we don't actually recommend many weapons for Momo, and there's a reason for that. almost all characters reborn shooting Can use all weapons quite well. In fact, there's absolutely no need to look for a weapon that greatly synergizes with your character's abilities if you don't want to. That said, this is a build guide, so we'll recommend the best weapons to go with what Momo brings to the table. And although many rifles and snipers have synergy with Lin's kit, There are only a few weapons that can be used with Momo's Inkform. They are listed below.
weapon name |
weapon type |
reasoning |
---|---|---|
tracker |
rifle |
This rifle's weapon skills are great and synergizes well with Momo's Dye Weapon Ascension tree. |
hidden ammo |
submachine gun |
You can spam this SMG's weapon skills very easily, and once again it mixes well with Momo's Dye weapon tree. |
amulet |
pistol |
Another weapon with weapon skills that are easy to spam. |
cloud weaver |
pistol |
Another option for auto-firing while in Ink Form is to send a Cloud Weaver projectile and then move into Ink Form. |
star ring |
pistol |
Star Ring is the second best auto-fire option for Momo after Starfly. Remember that you don't want this option because Auto retracts the ring automatically. |
arc light |
pistol |
The final pistol auto-fire option for Momo in Ink Form. It's not the best choice, but it's definitely not the worst either. |
wheel saw |
shotgun |
Another weapon with weapon skills that are easy to spam. |
tempest |
launcher |
Weapon skills have synergy with many dye weapon trees during Momo's Ascension. |
shooting star |
employee |
It will continue to fire while Momo is in ink form. In fact, the best weapon option for this character is broken. Be sure to set it to ‘Auto’. |
phoenix roar |
employee |
This staff's weapon skill works with Momo's Ink form, and its basic firing is also very convenient. |
Although the recommendations vary quite a bit, Starfly is the best weapon available to Momo, and it's not even close. Unless Inscriptions is terrible, you'll almost always want to switch to Starfly when this character is available, even if it's a bit of a damage downgrade to begin with. Set Starfly's fire mode to 'Automatic' and watch the game basically run automatically for the rest of the run.
Ascension Recommendation
Anything that affects the ink form or damage to the ink.
If you want to break down Momo's general build method as simply as possible, I'd say you should always grab Incarnate Ink Ascensions whenever you see them. But while this works, it doesn't really provide much useful information. Now, let's take a look at some of the best Ascension options for each 'branches' of Momo's Ascension tree and talk about why exactly you should choose them.
Ascension Name |
Ascension 'Branch' |
reasoning |
---|---|---|
surge ink |

The massive ink damage buff alone makes the ink form even more terrifying. |
residual traces |

It allows Ink Splash to deal real damage, making it very useful, especially early on. |

Ink and blank space, yin and yang |
avatar ink |
Activates Empty Domain buffs and debuffs much more frequently overall. |
sharp handwriting |
ink painting |
Drawing Come True Overall damage buff. |
Pause and Rotate |
ink painting |
In particular, it inflicts a lot of debuffs on enemies depending on how often the blank domain is activated. |
quick sketch |
ink painting |
It builds your movement speed more effectively from a damage perspective and allows you to get through stages much faster. |
geometric art |
dyed weapon |
Enemies are almost always within about 8 meters while in ink form, so this feature activates quite often. |
grinding ink |
dyed weapon |
This is the best Ascension for your weapon skill build with Momo. |
Hold the brush |
dyed weapon |
It helps a lot with the overall survivability of any Momo build. |
Overall, anything that increases ink damage, blank domain duration/damage, or ink form duration is something you want to get first.. The only exception to this rule is if you want to build Momo around weapon skills instead (though this build isn't as universally 'broken' as Momo's Ink Form build). Dye weapon ascension first.
Anything that enhances skill damage, weapon damage, or survivability.
Our weapon recommendations for Momo may seem a bit sparse, but our Occult Scroll recommendations are quite the opposite. Momo is mostly a close range fighter, and that particular playstyle synergizes surprisingly well with various Occult Scrolls. Additionally, Momo's unique element, ink damage, is only enhanced by Momo's own ascension, so instead of a few 'specific' occult scrolls that help, Momo has a lot more 'generic' occult scrolls that help a fair amount overall. You will catch it. Huge amounts occur in certain areas.
It's also worth mentioning that the scrolls suggested below are not in any particular rank order, but rather scrolls that work well for most builds of Momo.

General playstyle tips
Turn on your ink form and turn off your brain
Finally, let's take a look at Momo's more in-depth mechanics and some general tips for playing this character. Here are the best information, tips and tricks we can think of while trying to perfectly complete Reincarnation level 8 with Momo.
- If you want a broken build that completely destroys the balance of the game, make Momo's Ink Form last as long as possible, buy Ascensions that boost Momo's Ink Damage, and put all your money into Starfly. When Starfly is activated, you basically just have to look in the general direction of an enemy and they'll be gone before you even realize what you're looking at.
- Staying in Momo's empty areas or trapping enemies within them is a pretty big part of Momo's design. Therefore, always try to maintain peripheral vision so that you know where the blank domain areas are.
- Momo can also create an area of effect 'ink circle' that deals sustained damage to anything inside it. Try to get it active as much as possible, and utilize this ink circle whenever it triggers.
- Momo generates more secondary ability charges incredibly easily, so don't be too careful about overusing it. Especially when used to block enemy projectiles.
- Using an ink splash on an ink form without an ink point can quickly get you out of an ink form, which is not what you want to do. So, while in Ink Form, rely on the constant damage of your auto-firing weapons or Ink Circle, and only use Ink Splash when you have a lot of Ink Points or Ink Form duration left.
- You'll feel invincible with Momo in Ink Form from the moment the run begins, but if possible, try to get at least one or two Occult Scrolls from peddlers or crates that focus on survivability. Once you have them, you can play much less carefully and still avoid them.
