Most Expensive XY Evolutions Pokemon TCG Cards

The Pokémon TCG has a rich history of paying homage to iconic Pokémon, and each new generation provides an opportunity to look back on the success of previous generations. Special sets like Pokemon Celebrations feature reprints of desirable cards from the past.

Some of the best Generation 1 Pokémon return in exciting new and returning artwork, including the starter trio. Charizard will usually get the most attention out of the three starters, and this set is no different, as Charizard will be a major component of the best cards in Evolutions.

Unfortunately, Venusaur suffered a huge plunge towards the $4.50 level, but has recovered its value and surpassed the $5 plateau. Since the drop, Venusaur has shown no signs of slowing down, as usual. It trades between $5.50 and $6 all year round.

With some full-art cards coming out that make better use of card space, this Blastoise doesn't see much upward mobility in the future, making its placement solid.

Dragonite's quasi-legendary status sets it apart from many other Pokémon in the original 151, but this artwork does an incredibly heavy lifting in supporting this card's value. You won't find many better versions of Dragonite than this.

As one of the series' first legendary Pokémon, Mewtwo evokes a certain level of nostalgia for many collectors, but a work of art like this requires no prior attachment.

Whether you're new to collecting or have been adding to your Mewtwo collection for years, this card is a must-have just for the cool factor alone.

While prices are relatively stable, there's no telling what will happen in the Pokemon market.
