New Democratic Space Station Features Explained

After two months of massive orders and the deaths of countless freedom fighters in the name of freedom, Super-Earth's ultimate weapon, the Democracy Space Station (DSS), has finally come online. Since its release, Helldivers 2 has seen a lot of improvements, and perhaps it's time for the developers to pay some attention to the terrain aspect of the game.

How does DSS work in Helldivers 2?

DSS acts as a series of buffs for missions and campaigns.

The DSS is stationed in orbit above one planet per day. Since you only have one of them (at least for now), ideally you should place it above the most important planet. The buff also reduces enemy progress during a defense campaign, making it more difficult for bots/bugs to take planets on Super Earth.

The last and perhaps most consistent DSS buff is Orbital Blockade. Blockades, obtained by donating Requisitions to a station, completely prevent defensive campaigns from taking place, making the planet completely defensible. This buff also activates the Hellford Optimization booster for all players, effectively granting them access to a fifth booster for every operation on Earth.


Teamwork has always been an important aspect. Helldiver 2.
