Nintendo Switch 2 More than 2 million units were moved from Japan to set impressive new sales records. The latest sales chart indicates that Nintendo Switch 2 continues to surpass other consoles in terms of sales.
Nintendo Switch 2 is also out of great start to surpass the sale of the original switch. As more major hitters arrive at Switch 2 Metroid Prime 4: Beyond,,, Pokemon Legend: ZAand Hyrle Warriors: Jade EraThis number is likely to continue to rise. But this system has already achieved new achievements.
Nintendo Switch 2 achieves new sales milestones.
According to FAMITSU, Switch 2 is still leading hardware sales in Japan and surpassed a total of 2 million sales in Korea. It is quite impressive that Switch 2 is relatively small compared to 6 million units sold worldwide, while Japan achieved one -third of its numbers in itself. Interestingly, Switch 2 met the same milestone in the United States in less than a month at the end of August 2025.The system currently surpasses other consoles, including the original switch, and Switch 2 sells about 44,000 units a week in Japan, while the switch OLED and PlayStation 5 base systems moved 10,000.
This is not the only way to switch 2 surpasses competitors. Compared with console sales in Japan alone, Switch 2 has now doubled the sales of PlayStation 5 Digital Edition and sold eight times as much as the PlayStation 5 Pro. Switch 2 has to sell almost 4 million consoles in Japan to compete with the total sales volume of the default PlayStation 5, so Sony still has a strong foothold in the hometown of the two systems. But considering the current trajectory of Switch 2, the figure can be at some point.
At present, there is still a remain whether Switch 2 can repeat the life of the original switch and a certain inflow of new console sales. The solid game release set in 2025 and 2026 will help to continue to grow these numbers. Nintendo is known to have struggled to meet Japan's switch 2 demand, so if there is enough unit to buy a system, many gamers are likely to have pushed this figure further. Unprecedented demand will also help the number of switch 2 in the next few months and years.
