Nintendo Switch 2's rumored launch title could be a serious one-two punch.
While no games have been officially confirmed for a sequel to the Nintendo Switch, two rumored launch titles could deliver a powerful one-two punch.
One such company is Genki. According to a report from German website Netzwelt, Genki has revealed a physical replica of the Switch 2 privately at CES 2025. The replica Genki said has the “exact” dimensions of the Switch 2. Hardware was provided for attendees to hold and feel. If accurate, the clone could be the most realistic representation of the final Switch 2 hardware and could potentially confirm other Switch 2 design leaks from previous weeks.
Accessory maker Genki has shown off a replica of the Switch 2 hardware.
Photos shared by Netzwelt show the Switch 2 design looking significantly larger than the current Nintendo Switch, with a larger screen comparable to the Lenovo Legion Go, a portable gaming console for PC-based gaming. The Joy-Cons appear to be designed to be detached by pulling them to the side rather than pushing them up, potentially confirming rumors that the Switch 2 controllers will have a magnetic attachment feature. However, the same report speculates that a mechanical locking system may still be in play to prevent the Joy-Cons from unintentionally detaching. The right Joy-Con also has an additional button that isn't labeled on the duplicate.
The report details Genki's intentions behind creating a Switch 2 physical replica. Rather than show it off publicly before the official Nintendo reveal, Genki created a replica Switch 2 to show off Genki's planned Switch 2 cases and accessories to potential customers. Genki plans to release a total of eight Switch 2 accessories, including controllers and Switch 2 docks. Genki has not released any information about when Nintendo plans to release or reveal the Switch 2.
As new rumors and leaks become more and more specific, Nintendo may not be too far away from officially unveiling the Switch 2 hardware. Considering the current age of the Nintendo Switch, fans are certainly eagerly anticipating it, as are game developers and publishers alike.
