The second game in the Pokémon Legends spin-off series, Pokémon Legends: ZA is set in the distant past of the Kalos region of Pokémon X & Y. If the game is similar to its predecessor, Pokemon Legends: Arceus, it will take us on an adventure through the historical representation of Kalos we've come to know and love.
The Kalos region is large and beautiful, so it's a shame to limit the scope of the game to Lumios City. Dense forests, frosty caves, and beautiful beaches for players to explore are just a few of the wonderful locations Kalos has to offer. We can only hope to explore the vast Kalos region and truly appreciate it.
8 Snowbell City
Before the city meets eternal frost
In Pokemon: X & Y, Snowbelle City is covered in snow due to the cold temperatures in the Pokemon Gym. Legends: ZA is set in a time before Pokémon and humans became closely intertwined, so it's unlikely that Snowbelle City will become a winter wonderland even if it does become a city in the future. However, this region can still serve as a suitable snow location, like Alabaster Iceland in Legends: Arceus.
The area around Snowbelle City also has a famous Pokémon Village, where certain Pokémon live in hiding for various reasons. In Pokemon Mewtwo has two Mega Evolutions, so it's not a stretch to imagine you'll find them here.
7 Santarun Forest
A forested area for new beginnings
If anywhere in Kalos is the perfect place to start your Pokémon journey outside of Lumiose City, it's the space between Aquacorde Town and Santalune City. There you will find beautiful flowing rivers, green fields and the vast, rolling Santa Lune Forest.
If this is the first place we're sent to explore Pokémon, it'll definitely be similar to the Obsidian Fieldlands in Legends: Arceus. Hisui's Heartwood became the Aetherna Forest of Sinnoh, a deep forest comparable to the Forest of Santarun. Obsidian Fieldlands also includes lands that became early-game Sinnoh locations, such as Twinloaf Town and Sandgem Town, making X and Y enthusiasts feel nostalgic for one early-game village after another.
6 Ambrette Town
A place where fossil Pokémon can roam
Ambrette Aquarium from the Pokemon anime.
Kalos has several charming villages along the coast, reminiscent of Hisui's cobalt coastline. This area could cover the space between Ambrette Town and Cyllage City, complete with caves such as Connecting Cave and glittering Cave.
In addition to the many sea Pokémon that can be found on the beaches and in the ocean, Ambrette Town is also famous for its fossil lab. According to the description on the village map, no one paid any attention to the village of Ambrette until fossils were discovered in the area. If your game doesn't have a time warp zone, you can find Pokemon like Amaura and Tyrunt here. You will most likely find such a Fossil Pokémon in the Distortion Zone, if such a zone exists in the game.
5 Schaller City
Introduction to Mega Pokemon
Mastery Tower in Shaler City from the Pokemon anime.
Mega Pokemon has been confirmed to be appearing in Pokemon Legends: ZA, but you'll have to get the first Mega Stone from somewhere. What better place than Shalor City? In ZA's story, the Mastery Tower to the north may not exist, but the island likely does. This is probably where the Megastone was first discovered.
Aside from its importance as a Mega Pokemon, Shalour City is located to the north of the Reflection Cave, which has winding paths and mirror-like walls. Maybe there is a secret deep inside, maybe not. At the very least, it would be a cool reason to have players explore the area.
4 Perfume Palace and Chateau Charbonneau
A place that Calosian nobility and royalty call home
A nostalgic palace from the Pokemon anime.
It's hard to say how far Legends: ZA has come in the past. It could be 100 years, it could be 300 years. Either way, Parfum Palace and Shabbeauau Castle would be a wonderful way to add insight into the history of Kalosian royalty.
Parfum Palace was built 300 years ago by the kings of Kalos after a war with their neighbors, but was recently repurposed as a museum during the X & Y eras. Shabboneau Castle is more of a mansion belonging to Kalosian nobles. The owners donated most of their possessions until the 3DS game launched. Both locations can provide a relevant perspective into the lives of Kalosia's royals and nobility of the past.
3 Laber City
Autumn beauty and mud bogs
Laber City from the Pokemon animation.
Laverre City is built around an ancient tree that now houses the Laverre Gym. This region, which is always in fall, is beautiful to look at, and seeing it in a more natural state can make a deeper impression on players.
However, if this city is added to Legends: ZA, the area could also include swamps on nearby routes like Route 14, making it an area reminiscent of Hisui's Crimson Mirelands. This location may be placed late in the game as the Laverre gym is the sixth one to be faced in X & Y. It also rains frequently in this area, which may help players evolve Sliggoo into Goodra.
2 Dendemiyu Town
windmill and cold chills
Dendemiyu Town from the Pokémon animation.
Dendemiyu Town is a rural farming town famous for its windmills and the cold Frost Caves of the north. Because of its high altitude, it may have once been a winter region similar to Alabaster Iceland.
Snowbelle City is actually the city with the most snow in X & Y, while Dendemille Town is a more natural location for a location that has seen a lot of snow in the past, or at least it would lead to a cold Frost Cavern filled with ice. There is snow and there are Pokémon suited to the climate.
1 Geosenge Town
Quiet stones speak volumes
Geosenge Town from the Pokemon Evolution animation.
Geosenji Town is characterized by a Stonehenge-like structure located in the center. Since the actual Stonehenge was built in the distant past, it wouldn't be a stretch to imagine that we could visit Geosenge Town at some level, even if it wasn't an actual town in the era in which the game is set.
The ultimate weapon that almost destroyed the world is also hidden under Geunggeun Town, making it a suitable place to decorate the finale of the game. There's no guarantee what role the ultimate weapon will actually play in Legends: ZA, but based on ZA being behind AZ, we can assume that AZ's dark past could have some relevance within the game.
