One of the major technology industry events of the year is consumer electronics showOr CES. Every year there's a big reveal from a major tech company, and Samsung is no exception. Game Rant recently got a preview of some of the tech the manufacturers had on display at CES 2025, and of course the TVs were impressive. Samsung's lineup includes larger sizes and 8K resolutions, but the biggest advancement in the 2025 lineup is how the QN series leverages artificial intelligence.
Samsung QN Series TV
Samsung's TV range, including the QN900F, QN800F and QN700F, is equipped with the NQ4 AI Gen 3 processor. These processors provide a way to interact with someone's viewing preferences through features such as identifying filming locations, recalling an actor's filmography, learning to cook food from a TV show, and purchasing ingredients. On the viewing side, these AI chips can also upscale low-resolution content for 4K to match the display resolution.
The QN90F will feature one of the largest consumer displays on the market at 115 inches. While pixel size increases with screen size, Samsung is leveraging new work using AI that uses ultra-large image quality enhancement techniques to reduce blurriness associated with size classes. The most impressive use of AI technology developed by Samsung over the past few years is its ability to transform old media. Ironically, the unique look of early color TVs is a thing of the past with Samsung AI. The television I previewed had the ability to watch shows like: mash Make it look like it was filmed today.
AI has also been implemented to provide adaptive sound. This AI suite, Vision AI, can encrypt data using Knox Matrix services while also providing home security by monitoring the environment for sudden and unexpected movements and sounds that could indicate an emergency situation in the home. All these features are available on the new flagship S95F model on a screen with a gamer-centric refresh rate of up to 165Hz. The company touts that its AI suite combined with refresh rates can deliver the most immersive and realistic picture quality in the industry.
Turn your TV into a home museum
Another feature that is a huge benefit to gamers is the increased focus on anti-glare. Samsung says nearly three in five people rate anti-glare as a top priority for their viewing and gaming experiences. Therefore, the company focused a lot of attention on providing the highest possible reflectivity (in this case, the lowest reflectivity) for its 2025 lineup. . This doubles down on the foundation Samsung previously laid with the S95D. The new S95F flagship TV features significantly upgraded anti-glare design decisions, some of which carry over into the frame, which is one of Samsung's most exciting new lines.
The main feature of The Frame is how it looks when turned off. Unlike the ubiquitous Black Mirror screen, which usually appears when you turn it off, the frame focuses on another Samsung feature that turns your TV into a work of art. Frames, which draw from hundreds of museum galleries and thousands of works of art, display the art you select when turned off. The form factor is designed to look like a sleek, minimalist modern frame (hence the name) that, when not in use, looks like a print of a famous work of art such as Van Gogh's Starry Night. The company promises that the frame will deliver gallery-quality photos at home.
In addition to the ability to hide your television as a work of art, it adds anti-glare features to the frame, a Neo QLED display, 144Hz refresh rate, and Pantone-certified colors that give the picture a touch of authenticity from the Samsung collection. However, it's important to note that Samsung's Art Collection isn't limited to Frame TVs and will be available on most of its 2025 lineup.
The frame is cable-free, as an aesthetic, wall-fitting design can be greatly hampered by cable management issues. Instead, Samsung boasts a Wireless One Connect box that handles TV cables.
In summary, the evolution of what Samsung has been preparing for a long time makes Samsung a company to watch. CES opens on January 7th..
