The real -time Pokemon battle we are waiting for
In the short time with Pokemon Legends: In the Pokemon World Championship series of the year, ZA mainly focused on battle. Pokemon promised ZA's new real -time combat system to “innovate the Pokemon RPG experience.” It's a sensational claim, but it seems to be accurate in what I've seen so far. ZA uses Pokemon Legends: Arceus's action -centered battle is the basis of a new system, providing Pokemon battles more like Pokemon Animation. Pokemon feels like a takers for Active Time Battle System of Final Fantasy 7 Remake, and a fully new reflexive behavior and strategic decision on Pokemon are mixed.
In half an hour with ZA, I had two tasks. The second was an absolute fight, and the first was a small battle of teaching the rope of Pokemon fighting in Lumiose City.
This initial battle is intentionally simple, but designed to provide all the tools that can be used in combat without explicitly spelling the method of use. Pokemon games are much bold than sound. Pokemon RPGs and Legends: Especially those who are familiar with Arceus can easily understand the battle. Catching ZL during the battle is submerged in the enemy's Pokemon, so you can see the movement of Pokemon. Each of the four faces buttons corresponds to different movements. Press the button, use the movement, win the fight.
It does not consume a power point to use movement in ZA. Instead, all movements have their own cooldown. This changes the battle with some main ways. First of all, there is no reason not to use all Pokemon movements in battle. It may be a growl -roaring growls while the tackle is waiting for the cooldown. Cooldown seems to be weighted by the strength of the movement. In other words, movements that can traditionally affect less can be used more often. This is likely to be restructured by the entire Pokemon meta we know.
When replacing Pokemon, the waiting time for moving reuse continues to be ticked, so if you use six teams, you can effectively manage 24 reusable waiting time at any time.
Second, replacing PP for cooldown is to fight the same quality as MMO. Enabling in a specific order, such as the order rotation of the World of Warcraft, all movements can be used more efficiently. When using a ranged attack, Pokemon moves farther and moves closer to physical attacks, so you need to consider gap and positioning. You can avoid attacks, and you can run away from the opposite Pokemon or call back in Pokeball in the mega scenario to help Pokemon Dodge attack. In this way, if you exchange Pokemon during the battle, you will effectively provide I frame. If Pokemon is a way of taking it, it is a fascinating system that is likely to go deep.
Pokemon game with true challenge?
In this new system, I did not know how other statistics affect Pokemon (speed could affect reuse waiting time, but it can make it more important at any time). It is one to exchange Pokemon to avoid damage, but you can get the initial advantage by sneaking off, which will temporarily stun enemy Pokemon at the beginning of the battle. I used a ranged attack to hit my opponent's Pokemon before I noticed me, so Chikorita with Leafage became an attacker.
Square attacks can make a big difference in powerful fights. I met a trainer with a level 18 pidgeotta. When Pideootta took each Pokemon at once, it seemed like an impossible fight, but with the correct statistics, secret attacks and well -organized swaps, I could see how ZA was able to achieve low -level runs in a way that ZA couldn't play at all in the main line Pokemon game.
There are more things before Pokemon Legends. ZA will be released on October 16, but the first impression of the new combat system is overwhelmingly positive. In this new real -time combat system, you can't wait to see how the movement is re -creation and interpreted, and you can't wait for the interesting builds and strategies that players can think about. We can see amazing new utility for defense and mobility -centered movements, and we can't wait to see how the movement of danger and weather change is interpreted.
