Jotaro and Kakyoin's fight may not seem all that special, but fans should realize that this was a historic conflict when taken into context. This was the first time Araki wrote a Stand Battle that was very entertaining and made it clear that ditching Hamon wasn't the worst idea.
Kakyoin was brainwashed by Dio and caused considerable damage to Jotaro, but that didn't stop him from getting hit repeatedly by Jotaro once he came into Star Platinum's attack range. The iconic punch rush that would become a staple of the series followed, and Kakyoin was soon cured and became the main hero.
7 Jean-Pierre Polnareff & Kakyoin Noriaki VS J. Gale
A pivotal battle in which Polnareff finally avenges his sister's brutal death.

Polnareff was devastated by his sister's brutal death, and vowed to find the twisted killer who committed the act by any means necessary. After finally arriving in Calcutta, Polnareff succeeded in using his Stand to track down criminals attacking his enemies.
This resulted in a tricky stand battle that Polnareff would have lost if Avdol hadn't motivated him every step of the way. A nifty coin trick limited J. Geil's attack range, sending him down a predictable path when caught by Silver Chariot. The end of this fight marked the end of Polnareff's quest for revenge, but the criminal's mother had a bone to pick with the Frenchman.

It was only after he activated his stand that Hierophant Green entered the dream world and gave Death Thirteen a taste of his own medicine. The baby was immediately dropped off in another village before the group could continue their adventure.

His final demand to learn Dio's powers was so grueling that D'Arby admitted defeat, and as the rest of the group regained their senses, his soul was turned into a poker chip thanks to his Stand. .

The final fight with Dio was a long time in the making, with the heroes struggling to figure out why this villain was so strong. Kakyoin lost his life, Joseph lost his blood, and there was no one left who could fight Dio but Jotaro.
After learning of Dio's ability to stop time, Jotaro slowly realized that Star Platinum could also use the same power. He slowly adapted to Dio's time suspension during the fight, eventually landing a solid blow that surprised Dio. Even his Road Roller wasn't enough to overpower Jotaro, and Jotaro unleashed a final punch rush to defeat the main antagonist. Stardust Crusaders.
