Well, everyone knew this day was coming and it's finally here. What was once Borderlands 4's most OP builds have been reduced to ashes, and no doubt Vex players who once relied on them are now looking for better options. The build in question, dubbed “Infinite Bleed” by the community, has previously been called an “unintended” build by Gearbox, although the developer has never directly pointed to it when mentioning the impending nerfs. To Gearbox's credit, it's actually surprising how long the build lasted. Before we get into the details of the patch, it's helpful to understand why Vex's Infinite Bleed build has become such a hot topic. Borderlands 4 community. Combining bleed with the Contamination skill, which upgrades the chance of applying status effects when a player lands a critical hit, each bleed tick can potentially cause more bleed.

Equipment/skill synergies strengthen the loop by focusing on kinetic weapon damage, life drain, and critical strike/status chance.

How the Patch Affects Vex Bleeding Builds
The latest patch includes a variety of changes, but the expected “Vex-killing” changes are probably the biggest news. Of the four Vault Hunters Borderlands 4Vex actually required the least amount of tweaks, and fixes for unintended Infinite Bleed builds were simple enough to require only one line.

Bloodletter's bleed has been updated to no longer occur repeatedly, preventing unintentional damage loops.
This is really all you need for Vex's Infinite Bleed build. Borderlands 4 You will be in the grave at this point. Once the fix is applied, bleed effects applied via Bloodletter will no longer be able to re-trigger additional bleed stacks purely through damage ticks alone. This means that once bleed is applied and ticked, its own tick damage no longer counts as a critical hit or damage event that causes bleed again. As a direct result, the looping nature of the build was significantly weakened. Players can still bleed from critical hits, but the infinite loop effect has been removed. Instead, players will now have a more standard bleed-over-time effect without its own trigger aspect.
On the positive side, it gives Vex's other abilities more room to shine once more. Especially for Trouble, you also get damage and duration buffs. Borderlands 4Latest patch.
