TikTok was developed by Chinese company ByteDance, which has been accused by some politicians of collecting user data for the Chinese government. TikTok itself has strongly denied these accusations, but that hasn't stopped a lawsuit against it from making its way to the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court has ruled unanimously that the proposed TikTok ban can proceed. President Biden has said his administration will not enforce a ban, and President-elect Trump has suggested he might do something to keep the app online. Nonetheless, as of this writing, TikTok is no longer available in the United States.
