The subject of love has fascinated and frustrated artists, poets, and scholars for thousands of years. The result is many stories about the strange circumstances in which love can arise. A rather fascinating love story stems from the romantic connection between good and evil.

Mortal Kombat 1: 5 Evil Characters Who Turned Good
With the realms recreated in Liu Kang's vision, many previously villainous characters from Mortal Kombat 1 are no longer evil.
These can be fun because of the idea that love is an all-conquering force. Sometimes love can overcome any barrier, but other times it is just a false pretense under which other plans are carried out. In any case, through various circumstances, these characters can form a romantic relationship with the hero.
5 maria thorpe
star-crossed lovers
Assassin's Creed
- released
- November 14, 2007
A direct example of this character is Maria, an English noblewoman who was a Templar and fell in love with Altair, a Levantine assassin who was directly opposed to the Templars. Maria first met her future fiancé when her superiors used her as bait to deceive Altair. But the assassin did not kill Mary either. Maria is a tomboyish character who participates in fighting and sometimes acts as a man, especially since few women were allowed to participate in war. Unfortunately, for a long time she focused her will to fight for glory on her crusading efforts. That is, once she formed an alliance with Altair, she was able to serve as his voice of reason.
Maria inadvertently gave Altair information about the Templars, who were still technically enemies. Eventually, Maria came to oppose the Knights' ultimate goal of a new world order and consciously allied herself directly with Altair. After killing Armand Bouchart, Grand Master of the Order, Altair settled down with Maria. The couple married and had two sons, the youngest of whom, Seph, was the maternal ancestor of Desmond Miles. Unfortunately, siding with the heroes did not save Maria's life. She was murdered by Swami, another member of the Levantine Brotherhood of Assassins who rose to power as the organization became corrupt and forgot its tenets. Altair was deeply shocked by her death for the rest of his life.
4 Benny
enemy with advantage
Fallout: New Vegas
- released
- October 19, 2010
Sometimes the gender of a player's avatar can drastically change the trajectory of a romanced character. Although recent games are doing a better job of representing a variety of sexualities, it's still true that some characters only choose a specific gender in ways that can change gameplay. Therefore, certain characters are only suitable partners for certain genders. One example of this is Benny. Fallout: New Vegas.
Benny is Mr. As House's subordinate, he was one of the tribes that supported his control of Vegas. This gave him control and access to the House's technology, and opponents were driven out, suffering death and starvation. Nonetheless, this new power still wasn't enough for him, and he actively plotted to take over New Vegas right under House's nose. His duplicitous personality causes almost everyone who knows him to dislike him.
Benny was played by the late Matthew Perry, known for his romantic-focused film and TV appearances, but is probably one of his least romantic characters. He first encounters the Courier Six, shooting them in the head and stealing a package they were delivering. Not exactly anyone's ideal meeting. Despite this, female couriers, especially those with the Black Widow perk, can sleep with him anyway. He might be a bit confused as to why someone like the delivery man who is against him would want to sleep with him. However, they will ultimately take the player to his room if they wish.
This can be done by pretending to kill him on the Las Vegas Strip, but players can leave him alone after the deed is completed if they wish. Because of this, he will later be found in Caesar's tent, and his exact fate is once again up to the player. Although this relationship is far from affectionate, the player can take further steps to free Benny from the Legion, but after this point he is never seen again.
3 Megaira
Boss character who likes romance
brightness
- released

brightness Make the most of the repetitive aspects of the structure. This is achieved in part through an affinity system that allows Zagreus to form bonds with characters he continually encounters throughout the game's four levels and hub world. One such character is Megaera, the eldest of the Fury sisters. She was tasked by Hades with helping deal with the affairs of the underworld and torturing criminals. To this end, she is tasked with fighting Zagreus, the first boss of the game he must face before escaping Tartarus.
This boss fight can change if you play it enough times. Frustrated by Megaera's incompetence, Hades sometimes trades her for one of her younger, scarier sisters, Alecto or Tisiphone. Neither of them are allowed into the house of Hades. It is also possible to fight all three furies at the same time.

5 Not-So-Evil Video Game Antagonists
Although these video game characters can be unpleasant and have the potential to act adversely towards players, they are not actually evil.
After Zagreus first attempted to leave the Underworld, Megaera grew cold towards him. However, as Zagreus began to rebuild his relationship with his father, Megaera and her father were able to repair their friendship. The story may progress further depending on the player's actions. Maximum affinity with Megaera allows her to romance Zagreus, which the player can accept. Plus, the two of you may not be exclusive. Megaera is one of three love interests that Zagreus can have. In particular, Megaera can have a polyamorous relationship with Zagreus and Thanatos, provided Zagreus maximizes his affinity with both of them and has a separate romantic relationship with each of them.
2 Gangrel
king madly in love
Fire Emblem: Awakening
- released
- February 4, 2013
The Mad King Gangrel is the first major villain. Fire Emblem: Awakening. He is an early ruler of Phlegia who started out as an ordinary thief. Appearing to be of noble descent, he regained power by allying himself with Grimril, a religious group centered around the fallen dragon Grima. Although Gangrel was not an adherent of the cult, he used their influence to secure his own position and considered himself a “Nominal Grimleal”.
For the first stretch awakeningHe actively works to incite war. The end result is a lot of unnecessary bloodshed that ends with his presumed death. He is known to treat his subordinates poorly and enjoys the cruelty that his power affords him. His vulgar tone and straightforward attitude contrast with those of most rulers in the game, likely highlighting his background as a low-level criminal. His actions led the Ylissean Exalt, Emmeryn, to attempt suicide in a failed ploy to prevent a subsequent war. She survived, but suffered severe brain damage from the fall and developed amnesia. She was also presumed dead before she could potentially be recovered by shepherds.

8 fighting game characters with evil alter egos
These fighting game characters not only have dark tendencies, but are also downright evil as in-game characters.
After Gangrel is presumed dead, he joins a Ylissean pirate crew led by a berserker known as Zanth. Here he was abused by pirates and left to repress all the terrible, selfish acts he had committed. Despite all the suffering Crom has gone through, he is still able to recruit Gangrel by speaking to the fallen king on three occasions. The end result is that Gangrel agrees that it is better to die for Chrom's cause than to continue working under Zanth. His fate after the war is unclear, the only consensus being that he died “within a few years”.
Despite all this, Gangrel is not only able to find love with the woman Robin, but also gives birth to her son Morgan. After a series of support conversations where Gangrel works to scout her for his own purposes, a potential final support conversation may be unlocked if Robin is single. In this conversation, Gangrel reveals that his request was just a pretense of asking Robin to marry him. Although somewhat apprehensive, Robin ultimately accepts, claiming it would be an “honor” to share her life with him. Looking at his fiancé, he wondered how “she [him] love [her],” and claims that if she's trying to make a new man out of him, it works. His exact fate in this timeline of events is unclear, but like other partners taken by Robin's incarnation, scholars believe she loved him from above. I agree with everything else.
1 dahlia hawthorn
toxic relationship
- released
- February 7, 2012
College romances have a tumultuous nature, but few are as disastrous as the relationship between Phoenix Wright and Dahlia Hawthorne. Hawthorne was a very selfish woman who committed several murders to cover up her crimes. She was particularly involved in Mia Fey's first two trials as a witness and eventual culprit. She poisoned the coffee of Diego Armando, Mia's co-worker and eventual boyfriend, resulting in him being in a coma two years after Mia's murder.
She achieved this using a poison bottle necklace she stole from her then-boyfriend, Doug Swallow. She subsequently planted the evidence as a “gift of love” to the lawless young Phoenix Wright. She planned to kill Wright, but her nearly identical twin, Iris, convinced her to just take the necklace instead. To this end, Iris switched places with her sister and developed a true romance with Light. But this did not stop Hawthorne from using the pretense for his own selfish purposes.
Frustrated by her sister's inability to retrieve the necklace, Dahlia attempted to poison Light's cold medicine. But Doug Swallow wanted to warn Wright of his girlfriend's duplicitous nature. Unfortunately, this led to a rage where Wright pushed Doug and escaped before Dahlia electrocuted him with a nearby power cable.
This made Wright the prime suspect in the murder, with Mia Fey acting as his defense attorney. It took more effort from Mia to free Wright from her influence, but she succeeded in proving Dahlia guilty, which ultimately resulted in her execution. The entire incident deeply traumatized Wright, and as a result he refused to discuss it with anyone for quite some time. From then on, Phoenix devoted himself to the study of law and became Mia Faye's student until her untimely death. Phoenix would later learn the truth about his romance with Iris, whose existence Phoenix did not know existed until years later.
