Best Batman Movies, Ranked
There have been dozens of Batman movies made over the years. Whether animated or live-action, each is worth watching, but which is the best?
There are a few things that are essential for the DCU to succeed with Batman, and the DCU needs to get these things right if it wants to have the best live action Batman has ever had on screen. It's time for the DCU to define these hallmarks of the Batman mythos.
8 Batman's No Killing Rule
Batman should never, ever be killed. It's deeply ingrained in his personality.
What many past Batman movies have failed to showcase is Batman's strict no-kill rule. There is no compromise here, there should always be two rules: No guns and no murder. There have been instances of live-action Batman following this rule, but it's also something the DCU needs to get right if they want to show a realistic portrayal of the Caped Crusader.
Batman must save everyone and death must never burden him. It doesn't matter if it looks cool. Batman shouldn't kill, and that should be a guarantee for the character so that true fans can celebrate this portrayal.
7 bat family
It shows a hopeful Batman by introducing Robins, Batgirls, and more.
The Bat-Family is integral to Batman's DNA as a character, and other live-action Batman movies tend to ignore them in favor of focusing on Bruce Wayne and Batman. But the DCU needs to feel like a living world where these elements are celebrated, so hopefully this Batman will have relationships with other heroes as well as his trusty butler Alfred.

Batman's 10 best quotes from movies
The legendary Batman has been played by many amazing actors in live action, but equally iconic are the lines of dialogue he utters.
The Bat Family shows that Gotham City is not beyond redemption, nor is it a one-man war on crime. The Bat-family consists of Dick Grayson's Nightwing, Kate Kane's Batwoman, Cassandra Cain's Batgirl, and dozens of other great members who deserve to showcase Bruce's abilities as a father and mentor.
6 Show Bruce Wayne's importance to Gotham City.
Bruce Wayne helps Gotham City just as much as Batman.
A somewhat controversial portrayal of Batman is that Bruce Wayne is the mask and Batman is the truth. However, this is often a hotly debated topic and something the DCU should try and avoid. It makes sense for an early Batman, but any Batman with experience in Gotham should know how important Bruce Wayne is to Gotham City as its billionaire protector.
Bruce Wayne's public spotlight emphasizes his importance as a philanthropist, investing Wayne's money in causes that help with homelessness, orphanages, and medical care. Bruce's finances should show how committed he is to helping Gotham, and at night he protects it with the Fist of Justice.
5 fantastic elements
Don't be embarrassed by a villain who doesn't even need a sense of logic.
It's always nice to see realistic portrayals of villains in Batman movies, like serial killer Riddler or terrorist Bane, but the DCU's Batman deserves more fantastical elements. Fantastic elements are essential to Batman's war on Gotham City, including a strange serum that turns Kirk Langstrom into Man-Bat, the healing waters of the Lazarus Pit, and monsters made of clay.

Highest-grossing Batman movies, ranked
Batman has won multiple box office wins over the decades he's been on screen, and audiences can never seem to get enough of this DC hero.
The DCU's inclusion of fantastical elements allows it to easily stand on its own from its predecessors, and even rival Marvel with its fantastical themes. Batman should be able to glide through Gotham City and drive the Batmobile without arguing about “realism.”
4 Rogues Gallery
Batman's amazing villains shouldn't end in one go.
Most Batman movies feature one film's villain, who either dies or is never seen again. However, one of the greatest aspects of Batman comics is the fact that these villains always come back, sometimes teaming up, with the goal of tormenting Batman and taking Gotham for their own.
Not only would it be nice to see recurring villains, but it would also be nice to see Batman villains that usually don't get the spotlight they deserve because of how weird they are. Who's to say that the seasoning king can't come visit? Or are there more fantastical villains like Solomon Grundy and Clayface? Batman's villains are the best and should not be ignored.
3 A comic book suit for the ages.
There have been some great Batman suits in live action over the years (nipples not included). Most Batman movies try to look dark and realistic, giving the Batsuit too many dark colors. Sure, some of these Batsuits are just as amazing as Pattinson's, but that doesn't mean the DCU should be embarrassed about a bit of color.
This is a Batman that must accommodate a gold or yellow utility belt, have a yellow-rimmed bat symbol on his chest, or even have both a navy and gray color scheme and trunks! The DCU needs to make these suits look like superheroes and not soldiers.
2 bat gadget
Utility belts aren't just for storing bat snacks
Batman's gear is a big part of his arsenal and often helps him solve cases and get out of difficult situations. There's a tool for every job, and his utility belt is full of them. Maybe he has spare kryptonite, a cache of batarangs, smoke bombs, or even shark repellent spray.
It's always cool to see Batman pulling out a useful gadget from his utility belt, and the DCU Batman should take inspiration from the comics and movies. batman arkham This game shows just how versatile and useful bat tools can be.
1 ultimate martial arts expert
Various forms of combat that Batman has trained in
Batman may not be a superhero, but he has an incredible will that allows him to master his body and various forms of martial arts across the world. Batman's fighting style has always been influenced by various forms of martial arts, proving why he is not one to be messed with.
Whether it's a nimble kick or a precise punch, this Batman should be able to take the lead while taking down five or more enemies while maintaining his signature scowl. Batman's fighting abilities are part of what makes the character cool, so it's time to embrace them to the fullest.
