October was one of the biggest months. xbox game pass'Recent history. Although there are some great indie titles like shifu and encryption It was added to the service last month, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6It's the first day release of October 2024 that solidifies it as one of Game Pass's best. According to Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella: Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 “Set a record” for new Game Pass subscribers on launch day.
Naturally, this would be quite difficult for Xbox Game Pass to replicate. Call of Duty: Black Ops 6's success will come sooner rather than later, and unfortunately it looks like Xbox isn't even trying to do it this November. Xbox Game Pass already has a pretty strong November lineup, with 10 games confirmed to be released during the first round of launch, according to the subscription service's latest marketing. But that's not the complete truth.

Xbox Game Pass's November 2024 Lineup Has Weird Marketing
Xbox Game Pass's November 2024 graphics are misleading
Just a few days ago, Xbox Game Pass confirmed its Wave 1 lineup for November by releasing a graphic showing a total of seven titles. These seven titles included the following day one releases: Goat Simulator: Remastered and Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024Along with several indie titles such as Turnip Boy robs a bank and Harold Halibut. But eagle-eyed fans might notice something odd about this graphic.
Below each game's image, you'll find the platforms it's available on and, more importantly, the Xbox Game Pass tier it will be released on. Many people will quickly realize that four of the games listed are added to Xbox Game Pass Standard, while only three are added to Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass.
For those of you who missed the recent confusing overhaul, Xbox Game Pass Standard gives players access to the massive library of Game Pass titles, but doesn't offer any new games on day one, nor does it offer any that wouldn't otherwise be available. This is a cheap grade. Game Pass Ultimate offers new titles as soon as they are released.
This is Game Pass's November Wave 1 graphics (Harold Halibut, Turnip Boy robs a bank, Gourmet Balland Rewinder) have all been available on Xbox Game Pass Ultimate for several months, but are now available as Xbox Game Pass Standard. This also means that only three of the games shown in the graphic are new to Xbox Game Pass. Goat Simulator: Remastered, flight simulator 2024and Metal Slug Tactics.
It's hard not to feel that this graphic is a bit misleading. The first wave of November only sees three new games coming to Xbox Game Pass, but here we see seven, giving the illusion that the month is a lot busier than it actually is.
Standard tier of Xbox Game Pass cannot receive priority.
Xbox Game Pass's November Wave 1 graphics are a bit of strange and potentially misleading marketing, but there may be a much bigger problem on the horizon. Looking at the rest of Xbox Game Pass's November lineup, we see 10 games hitting the service between November 1st and November 19th, which is considered the end of the first wave. Of these 10 titles, 5 are Game Pass Standard. This is an add-on already available in Game Pass Ultimate.
This means there will only be five new games coming to Xbox Game Pass in this month's first wave. This is significantly lower than previous months' offerings, with the first wave offering eight new titles in October, seven new titles in September and August, and an impressive 11 titles in July.
It's important to not be hasty and assume that this month's lineup sets a new precedent for Xbox Game Pass, but it's still a possibility and something that needs to be addressed. Xbox shouldn't obscure Game Pass's lack of new add-ons by presenting Game Pass Standard titles as new games when they aren't actually applicable to many subscribers. And more importantly, Xbox shouldn't cut back on the addition of the Ultimate tier simply to add more to Game Pass Standard.
