Pokemon Legends: ZA includes a new battle mechanic called Plus Moves. The problem is that it's becoming increasingly clear that many people didn't realize what Plus Moves were or how to use them until they'd already finished the game.

Considering the lengthy tutorial you have to endure for the first few hours of Legends: ZA, it's a small miracle that there are key details about the latest Pokemon game that caught the attention of so many of you. It's been more than two weeks since Legends: ZA was released, and many people, including myself, didn't know what Plus Moves were or didn't realize that Plus Moves don't just passively make some moves more powerful.

Don't feel bad if you didn't use the plus move. you are not alone

You can tell if an action is a plus action if there is a plus next to it. And as I type that sentence, I realize how clear it will sound to those of you who have known the action all along. Some may not have noticed this during their entire playthrough, but as you can see from the post below and the hundreds of replies to this, it's a way to use Plus Moves that most people seem to have gone overboard with.

I think there are quite a few people who think that when a movement becomes a plus movement, that movement passively becomes more powerful without the trainer's intervention. Actually, that's not the case. If you want a compatible move to receive the Plus treatment to deal more damage or have a wider area of effect, you'll need to press the Plus button on your controller before commanding your Pokémon to do that move.

It seems obvious now that I spelled it out for you, right? And before you completely skip out on explaining this core feature while simultaneously criticizing the game for being too difficult to get your hands on, I have some bad news. Some people have claimed that they can't use Plus Moves until they see the explanation above. That's not true. You can use the Mega Ring as soon as you obtain it, long before the Slow Bro battle begins.

I think the initial tutorial was so long and had so many explanatory pop-ups that many of you at this point in the game would have assumed you knew everything and skipped right over the pop-ups without acknowledging that they contained new information. Or maybe you're assuming Plus Moves were applied passively and you notice that the descriptor is glossy over it and the part where you press Plus is missing.
