Spice Girls Geri Horner and Mel B had a frosty reunion at Victoria Beckham’s 50th birthday bash, insiders claim.
The singers came face-to-face at Posh’s party for the first time since Mel claimed that Geri had lied about her real age, The Sun reports.
Geri, 51, and Mel, 48, are said to have kept their distance at Oswald’s private members’ club in Mayfair, central London, on Saturday night — despite the latter trying to offer an olive branch.
A source said of the stars, who had a second No1 in 1996 with Say You’ll Be There: “Mel tried to smooth things over with Geri at the party but it didn’t go as planned.
“She was laughing it all off but Geri didn’t seem interested in hearing what she had to say and wandered off.
“When it came to taking their group picture, Geri kept as far away from Mel as possible which was awkward to watch.
“Geri wanted to be there to celebrate Victoria and have a good laugh with everyone, not talk to Mel about the embarrassing things she’s said about her.”
Any awkwardness between the group, who split in 2000, seemed to be forgotten by the time they hit the dancefloor — where they performed their 1997 hit Stop.
Onlookers told The Sun the five also sat down at a table together and talked during the evening.
Geri was the first of the Spice Girls to leave the party in the early hours of Sunday morning, with Mel heading home with her fiancé Rory McPhee half an hour later at just after 2am.
Mel admitted last week she believed Geri had been lying about her age — claiming she didn’t believe her when she celebrated her 50th birthday in August 2022.
She said: “No one knows how old Geri is.
“No one’s seen her passport.
“I mean, I know we’ve travelled the world, but I still don’t know how old she is.
“She claims she had her 50th birthday, but I don’t believe her.”
Mel, who previously said she was kicked out of the Spice Girls’ group WhatsApp for talking about a reunion, also fell foul of Geri when she claimed they’d slept together.
Geri’s representative denied the story and Mel later admitted Geri wasn’t happy with her.
Geri has since unfollowed Mel B on Instagram, although she still follows Victoria, Mel C and Emma Bunton.
Mel B mocked her joke about Geri’s age yesterday and told her Instagram followers she’d had a great night celebrating Victoria’s 60th birthday.
Victoria hailed her bash — which featured celeb guests such as Tom Cruise — a success and called it the “best night ever”.
Sharing a pic of the group online, she added: “The best gift to be reunited! “Thank you to all my friends and family for celebrating with me.”
